- For my very last blog of the hunger games, I left off at the part where Katniss kills off a district member to save rue but unfortunately it's too late. In chapter 19, Katniss recalls Peetas infatuation for her and uses it to her own will through the games. Katniss is in need of supplies and then goes to find peeta injured. She decides to spend the night with him and help take care of him, this is where the romance starts to happen. This provides entertainment for the districts to watch because haymitch sends in a broth for both of them hoping to play up the romance. She continues to care for peeta, the next day peeta's leg is still worse, Peeta asks Katniss to tell him a story, she decides to tell him the story about getting prim a goat for her birthday. All of a sudden the announcer there will be a feast and whoever comes will receive a backpack full of supplies. At first Katniss is hesitant because she knows it may be a trap but Peeta was in desperate need of supplies that could help him that also could possibly be in the bag.She gives Peeta a sleepy syrup and heads to the feast. Katniss comes in an encounter with clove, another district tribute and they have an aggressive encounter. The next few days katniss and peeta spend together.they don't have much supplies and everything is very scarce and the weather conditions are very bad.these chapters also show infatuation between both of the characters.Katniss is then attacked by cato and then defeats him and peeta and her are the two last remaining people. Katniss refuses to let peeta die so she tries to take poisonous berries but at the last minute the capitol calls and declares them both winners.
- Personally, I really liked the first book it was extremely interesting and I want to read the other books that follow out of this. I liked how they turned it into a little science fiction with the dead tributes brought back to life. If I were to rate this book i would give it a 9/10 it is very suspenseful and it is written very well.
