Your chance to rant, rave, and talk about the books you are reading. It's obvious we are a family of readers...this is our trainwreck of a dog, Roxy, that my daughter likes to dress up...she is now named "Harry Pooper"

The Book thief 350 to the end
The last section of the book focuses mostly on the impacts that WWII is having on Liesel, the people in her town and Max. One day Nazi officials come to inspect Liesel's house to see if it would be a bomb shelter and that is the start of a troublesome journey for Max. When Liesel's father gives bread to a jew during a Jewish parade, which is highly illegal, he is whipped but more importantly everyone sees him as a Jew lover. Liesel's father now lives in constant fear that the Nazis will come inspect their house and find Max. This leads Max to eventually leaving saying that the Hubermann family has helped him enough. This is also when Liesel's father gets sent to the most undesirable branch of the army. Eventually their is an air raid which is what kills everyone but Liesel and possibly Max.
I chose to write these things because they do a good job of summing up the end of the book but also because they seemed significant and important.
