Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card ch 7-10

In this section, Ender continues to receive training with his fellow friends, until he is ordered to transfer to the higher level class within the school. The officers recognize him more as a commander as they watch the training process continue. They were so heavily relied on Ender, top ranked soldier in the school, that now they actually want to test him as a real commander which incorporates unfair ways. Smart boy Ender doesn’t take long to realize that the officers were being very dependent on Ender. Meanwhile, he is having his own issue with this mind game he has been playing. The game was designed for players not to win, but he wins it that was not supposed to be in a very violent and inappropriate way. Later, Peter appeared on the game. This created an illusion of his violent brother, Peter, in his head in which he suffered from emotionally. 

Before Ender was even over the Peter addition mind game, he realizes that the big day is coming, space war. Peter repeats how he has all the plans in his head to his lovely sister, Valentine. The first phase of his plan was basically using political idea and its widespread. He starts by using the nets to share the political ideas to the community. He adds that this is going to be a long patient fight. 

In the anger of not being able to pass the part where Peter’s face appears as well as seeing it in the game, Ender opens the game once again. But this time, the snake he has crushed before turned into Valentine, and they walk together to the next phase. 

This section reveals the officers’ overly high expectations and heavy dependence on Ender which adds on to the anxiety he has been with from the game Peter appeared. It can be inferred from the beginning of the book that Ender has been seeing and facing his brother’s violent actions, so he fears to be like him when he forced the game to move on from the stage where it’s not supposed to by violently killing the creature that was holding the gate. Valentine comes as a savior of his stressful life. The reason why Valentine appeared on that game and walked out with Ender means that Ender really feels comfortable and unstressed with Valentine, well enough that it washed his anxiety with Peter. 

As he is approaching the big day, he starts on some of his early plans for the big plan that is yet to come.
