It Blog #3

Following the defeat of It by the Losers, a violent storm comes after Berry as a result of the death of IT. Bill Denbrough is the one who kills It by using a magical ritual, and it serves as a form of payback for what IT did to Georgia Denbourough, his little brother, many years ago in the 1960s. The Losers were busy fighting IT while the storm is occurring, so after they defeat him they realize the storm has destroyed most of Berry. Following this the Losers return to their lives, better than before. They all once again begin to forget their memories of Berry and their battles with the evil monster, meaning that IT might really be dead.

I enjoyed this book a lot, and found the story and format very interesting. I like how Steven King was able to write it in a way that told the story of two different time periods side by side, so it was as if the reader was following along and see each iteration of the characters grow with each other. After the story was over, I felt that King ended it in a perfect way by having Bill finish off It, as a form of payback from when his little brother was killed. The storm that wiped out Berry was also a nice touch because it showed how Berry is finally in ruin, and hopefully never allows for the return of IT. The part where King says the Losers forget all their memories about IT shows that they have moved on to a different point in their lives, and It is no longer a  part of their lives that they must deal with.
