Fantasy League pg1-100

The book that I am reading is Fantasy league by Mike Lupica. So far I have read the first 13 chapters. The main character of the story is Charlie Gaines. Charlie is a 12 year old kid that is very passionate about football and knows  more about it then the average person. He plays football himself but he is not as good physically as the other kids his age. Charlie's best friend is a girl named Anna Warren. Anna's grandfather owns an NFL team called the L.A. Bulldogs. He got the expansion team a few years ago and so far the team is not a good each year. The general manager of the team is Anna's uncle Matt Warren. Matt so far has not been a good general manager of the team but it would be very hard for him to get fired because his dad is the one who owns the team. This brings conflict later in the story.
Even though Charlie was very good at knowing a lot of things about football and who he should play for his fantasy football teams he still loved that he actually got to play football himself because he was actually apart of a team. At the end of one of their first practices they were doing a scrimmage to see if the offense could score on the defense and whoever lost would have to run laps. It got down do the last play and Charlie asked the coach if he could call a timeout. At this point the coach was confused about why he wanted a timeout. Then Charlie told him that he thought he knew what play was coming. This was very impressive because they had only ran three plays before so it showed how smart he was. After this happened the defense won and the coach told Charlie that he was going to be a player/coach. This was something that I though was very interesting because it seems like this got Charlie very excited because he usually was as involved with the team but this made him have more of an importance to the team.
Eventually Charlie got to be closer with Anna's grandfather Joe Warren. Charlie got to go to one of the preseason games and ended telling him about a quarterback named Tom Pinkett. He was an older quarterback that hadn't been talked about for a few years now. The bulldogs were having quarterback problems and Charlie suggested him to Joe Warren. Later the bulldogs ended up signing him and he became the starter for the teams first game. At this point Matt Warren who is Joe Warren's son didn't like the idea of signing him but they did anyway. This part was foreshadowing for later conflict in the story. After the first game Tom Pinkett had played really good and the bulldogs had won the game. It is kind of funny because if Charlie never said anything to Joe Warren than he would of never been on the Bulldogs.
